We would like to assure our visitors that despite the brushfires here on Hawai’i Island we are operating normally and the event did not affect Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort and Mauna Kea Residences. Thanks to the swift action of our first responders, the fire was contained and extinguished, and no guests, residents or employees were injured. We continue to monitor the area to ensure the safety of our guests and employees. Additionally, Hawaii County currently does not have any official orders, bans, or closures in effect at this time, and Hawaii Tourism Authority’s website states “Currently, travel is still welcomed to the island of Hawaii.” We are extremely grateful for the brave first responders of Hawaii County Fire Department, Civil Defense, and Hawaii Police Department who worked hard to ensure the safety of our guests, residents and staff. Our thoughts are with our brothers and sisters on Maui, and we remain committed to supporting our community and those affected by the fires. Again, our hotel, restaurants, beach, pool and staff are operating as usual and we hope to welcome our guests in the coming weeks. Mahalo.
